On February 22, 1994, Nam Joo was born in Busan, South Korea. He is the only child of his parents. Nam did his basic elementary education at Sangri Primary School. After that, he went to Kyungham Middle School in Busan.
He later relocated to Suwon in the Gyeonggi Province of South Korea, where he transferred to Changyong Middle School and finished middle school there.
