Jung Chae-Yeon entered the world in Suncheon, located in South Jeolla Province, South Korea, on December 1, 1997. She is the daughter of Kim Yeo-jin and has a very young sister named Jeong Si-Yeon.
Jung enrolled at the School of Performing Arts in Seoul from 2013 until 2016. It is located in Gung-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul, and went there to study with Ahn Eun-jin, another DIA member. She graduated from SOPA on February 4, 2016.

Career of Jung Chae
Initially, Jung Chae entered the entertainment industry as a member of the girl group DIA, coinciding with the release of their debut studio album, “Do It Awesome,” on September 14, 2015.
Jung in Produce 101, I.O.I and BCHCS
Chae and fellow member Huihyeon participated in Produce 101, a new survival reality series on Mnet, in 2016. Next, she placed seventh overall in survival, earning her a spot in the project girl group I.O.I. The group debuted in 2016, releasing “Dream Girls,” the lead single from the mini album Chrysalis. Then, Jung Chae debuted in December in BCHCS, the sub-unit of DIA.
After that, in 2018, Jung announced her resignation from DIA because of health issues. Fortunately, she recovered and rejoined the band, contributing to Summer Ade’s fourth album. The next year, the group released Newtro, their fifth EP. Despite the group’s successful history, Jenny left the group after suffering a serious knee injury.
