Career of Minhyun
Initially, Minhyun worked for Pledis Entertainment. After his debut, he gained more fame as a trainee by appearing in Orange Caramel’s music video for the song “Shanghai Romance.” While a member of the “Pledis Boys,” he also made cameos in the sound recordings of labelmates.
Minhyun made his NU’EST debut on March 15, 2012. He also appeared as a model for Park Yoon “Big Park” presentation at the F/W 2012–13 Seoul Fashion Week.

Elimination in All Rounds
Initially, Hwang was assigned to group C. However, the poor performance on the reevaluation resulted in his promotion to rank D. His team sang Sorry Sorry by Super Junior on the first live audience challenge, defeating the other team by a large margin.
In preparation for the position-based challenge, he sang I.O.I.’s “Downpour”, and within three days, his fan cam had 1 million views. He was rated 9th in the second round of elimination.
Secondly, Minhyun was chosen as the main point for his team, Nation’s Son, to perform the Triple H song Never Around Korea for the third challenge. The group’s dynamic and alluring performance garnered a lot of attention. In the third elimination round, he came in at position #7.
Thirdly, Hwang Min-Hyun and his team performed the song “Hands On Me” at the final challenge, which judged debut songs. He placed ninth overall, along with 10 other trainees.
Hwang Min joined the winning debut team Wana One.
Return to NU’EST
Wanna One’s performances finished in December 2018, and the group formally dissolved in January 2019. At this point, Minhyun joined Pledis Entertainment.
Moreover, on April 3, 2019, Hwang debuted “Universe,” a digital solo song from NU’EST’s sixth EP, “Happily Ever After,” as the album’s lead single.
