A woman who was reportedly kicked out of a store because her shorts were too short is now hitting back at her critics, saying she was bullied for being “too hot.”
It’s generally understood that when it comes to other people’s clothing choices, it’s best to keep your opinions to yourself. However, many establishments have specific dress codes in place, deciding what is considered acceptable and what isn’t.
Now, a woman’s incredibly short shorts have sparked a big online debate. While she believes she was being unfairly targeted for being “too hot,” many people on social media have a different take on what actually happened.
The Incident That Sparked Controversy
Kerolay Chaves, a woman from Brazil, took to Instagram to express her frustration about being censored for her revealing outfit.
“I just got home from the supermarket and was harassed for wearing ‘too short clothes’,” she wrote in her post, translated from Portuguese to English. “Some people looked at me with prejudice, others cursed me, and finally, I was expelled from the place. Do you believe it? I think it’s absurd for us women to still be treated that way just because we dress the way we want. The truth is that we go through this because we are too hot.”
Kerolay also shared a photo of the outfit that apparently caused all the trouble, which featured denim shorts that were cut extremely short, almost resembling underwear.
Public Reaction: Support for the Store Staff
Despite her post, the majority of responses sided with the store staff, criticizing Kerolay’s outfit.
“No need to go to a supermarket dressed like that,” one person commented. “You are embarrassing decent people who are often there with children.”
Another person joked, saying: “I guess the same thing would happen if a shirtless man showed up.”
Some people also questioned the authenticity of her story.
One commenter wrote: “Clearly, this is for engagement and Instagram likes. She never went to the supermarket like this. Those who follow the stories know. I’m sorry, but this can’t help you.”
Another added: “Stop using serious issues for engagement. It’s not prejudice – it’s cluelessness.”
Some users even pointed out that Kerolay had time to take a photo before she was supposedly kicked out. “She even had time to take a picture before being kicked out,” one commenter noted.
Skepticism Over the Entire Story
Others were more skeptical about the entire situation, with one person suggesting: “There’s a piece of clothing in the cart… I don’t think she entered the market like that. Maybe she covered the bottom part and just took the photos to post them with a controversial caption for engagement. It seems like she didn’t get kicked out at all. The market looks empty.”
It seems this incident has sparked a larger conversation online, with many questioning whether Kerolay was actually kicked out or if it was all part of a strategy to gain attention on social media.
