If you’ve ever noticed that a baby’s head seems uneven, it’s because they are born with soft spots on their skulls, called fontanels. These areas are still developing, allowing the skull to fit through the birth canal during delivery, according to the Mayo Clinic.
The Mayo Clinic explains that these fontanels also help a baby’s brain grow quickly in infancy. While a newborn’s head might look uneven at first, it usually becomes rounder as the baby grows.
Sometimes, a baby’s head shape can change after birth due to pressure from lying in one position too often.

The discussion about a child’s skull has gained attention on Reddit, where it has left many users horrified.
One Reddit user shared an image showing a child’s jaw packed with teeth that hadn’t yet erupted. The image, showing an unusual number of teeth already in place beneath the gums, made many people uncomfortable.
“I think every child’s jaw is filled with teeth, but we usually don’t notice until they start coming through,” said the Reddit user who posted the image.
