Early Life of Alison Moyet
Alison Moyet was born Geneviève Alison Jane Moyet in Basildon, Essex. Though she wasn’t raised multilingually, she was bilingual, having both the English and French languages, which she referred to as “Franglais,” and was frequently called Alison. Moyet spent her childhood in Basildon, attending Janet Duke Junior School and then Nicholas Comprehensive for her secondary education.
In her late teens and early twenties, Moyet played in groups throughout southeast Essex during the latter end of the 1970s and the early years of the 1980s. Alison Moyet’s musical career got off the ground at 20. In the U.S., they were known as Yaz due to a trademark issue. She had in good release flow for albums such as “Voice” (2004) and “The Turn” (2007). On January 19, 2008, Moyet reunited with Vince Clarke for a Yazoo reunion tour that sought to please many fans. She again found her way to get back to the synthpop music genre, and in 2013 she released the album “The Minutes”, launched at number five in the UK Albums Chart.
She toured and produced more live albums into the decade, retaining a healthy presence in the music. In 2024, Moyet released “Key,” an album of reworked singles with two new tracks. By June 2023, Moyet’s sales were 23 million albums.
